What is an IKARUS Scan Center? What are IKARUS Managed Security Services?

An IKARUS Scan Center is a centrally hosted infrastructure in which anti-virus and spam filtering services for E-Mails (IKARUS Managed Security Services) are operated. Optionally a service provider can decide whether he/she wants to run his/her own "IKARUS Scan Center" on his/her NOC, or make use the existing IKARUS Scan Center that is managed at VIX-2 in Vienna.

  • SCANS E-mails using 3 different scan technologies to detect computer viruses.
  • SUPPORTS 17 various pack algorithms.
  • DELETES detected viruses in E-mails and attachments.
  • FILTERS E-mails traffic using 9 different spam filtering technologies.
  • DELETES troublesome spam mails with recognizing rate up to 99.6% (!).
  • OFFERS end users an interface for configuration and maintenance of their accounts.

IKARUS MSS Resellers are those ISPs and system houses that resell the IKARUS Managed Security Services as services which is operated out of the IKARUS Scan Center (at VIX-2 Vienna).

IKARUS Scan Center Providers are those ISPs that host and operate the IKARUS Scan Center on their own in their own NOC.
